Q. In the June issue of TIGER BEAT you have a really tuff picture of the Buffalo Springfield. You have aroused my curiosity so that I have to ask who are they trying to hide in the picture?

Laura Gibson
San Jose, Calif.

A. That’s the Buffalo’s original bass player, Bruce.

Q. Can you tell me how old Jan & Dean are, if either is married, and how Jan is doing? I think they’re great.

Jan & Dean Fan
Boston, Mass.

A. They’re in their middle twenties, neither is married, and we are happy to report that Jan is up and around and slowly recovering from his accident. He is producing records in the meantime.

Q. In your Monkee Map you show where to see the Monkees. I would like to know if it is possible to get a pass into the studio where they work. If so, where do you write, and how much does it cost?

Karen

A. We’re sorry, but there is absolutely no admittance to the Monkees set. Also, it is a long-standing policy, even before the fab four made its appearance at Screen Gems not to conduct tours through the studio.

Q. Now that we know the places and dates, the Monkees will play their concerts, where do we get tickets and how much do they cost?

Desperate to Know
Cincinnati, Ohio

A. Arrangements for each concert date are strictly at the local level, so for correct information it will be best to watch your hometown papers and listen to your local radio stations.

Q. While going through some fairly old 45’s I found one by none other than Tommy Boyce. The name of the record is “Along Came Linda” and “You Look So Lovely”. I’d like to know if it’s by the same Tommy Boyce who writes songs for the Monkees. Both songs are written and sung by him.

Marilyn Junker
Goodlettsville, Tenn.

A. You’re right! The recording artist you “discovered” is the same composer who writes for the Monkees.

Q. I’m desperate. I must know Ricci Martin’s address in a hurry. Please. I simply adore him.

K.L.
Long Island, N.Y.

A. We don’t have a fan club listing for Ricci, but why don’t you write him in care of Brompton Productions, 8255 Sunset Blvd., Hollywood, Calif. 90046.

Q. I think Jefferson Airplane are sooo groovy. Would you please tell me how to get into their fan club?

Lynn
Fresno, Calif.

A. To join the Jefferson Airplane Fan Club write to Vicky St. Clar, 130 Del Mar, San Francisco, California.

Q. We’re in the Army awaiting our orders and we’re nuts about Nancy Sinatra and just can’t find a club for her. Could you please find one or two?

Pvt. J.C. & Friends
Ft. Gordon, Ga.

A. Suggest you write for this information to Reprise Records, 4000 Warner Blvd., Burbank, Calif.

Q. I’m really confused. Is it true that Leah Cohen (Peter Tork’s girl) is Mama Cass’s sister? I thought Mama Cass’s last name was Elliott. Also, in the Monkee Spectacular #2 is the girl in the picture on page 67 Leah?

Shari
Toledo, Ohio 43611

A. Leah Cohen is Mama Cass’s step-sister (According to Wikipedia, they are full sisters; Mama Cass was born with the surname Cohen but later changed it to Elliott.). That explains the difference in last names. Yes, that is Leah with Peter in the picture, but they no longer go together.

Q. I read in your June issue that Davy Jones pasted up some stamps of himself in Peter’s house as a joke. Where can I get those stamps and how much would they cost?

Bonnie Taylor
Rockland, Mass.

A. Write for information on the stamps to Monkee Stickers, P.O. Box 1967, Hollywood, Calif. 90028.

Q. Are those unmatched socks Peter is wearing (June TIGER BEAT, Page 33), that way on purpose, a mistake or what? Not that it matters much, but I’m just wondering.

Mary Cleverdon
Wichita, Kans.

A. Peter always wears unmatching socks. At first he did it as a joke and when no one even noticed, he decided to leave them that way.

Q. Please help! I have heard that the guy filling in Harpo’s vacant place in the Raiders is Fang’s brother. Is this true?

Raider Lover Forever
Prairie Village, Kans.

A. No. He is Charlie Coe, formerly with Don and the Good Times.

Q. Is the third Monkee album out yet? My girlfriend claims she has it, and that it is entitled “Monkee Business”.

Kathy Bickler

A. The correct title of the Monkee’s third album is “Headquarters”. It probably will be their last until next fall, since the boys will be on tour throughout the summer.

Q. Will the Monkees go to Expo ’67? If so, when?

Carol Paulin
Willi, Conn.

A. No. Their summer tour is strictly in the United States. They made a special trip to Canada for a concert last April.

Q. My cousin who lives in Hollywood wrote and told me that she went to the Monkees’ Concert at the Hollywood Bowl. She went on and on how outasite their show was. I’d give anything in the world to be able to see Davy, Micky, Peter and Mike in person. That letter just turned me on. What I’m worried about, though, is this. At the end of her letter, my cousin said that Micky fell in the pool that’s in front of the stage. And she just stopped there! Did Micky really fall in the pool? Did he get hurt?

Kay Robbins
Amana, Iowa

A. No need to worry, Micky intentionally jumped into the pool to close his special number. He didn’t get hurt, only wet. Stage hands were standing by to wrap him in huge towels so that he wouldn’t take a cold.
