Davy’s “Kickiest” Day

London’s huge Wembley Stadium is usually a sports arena. Only for such special events as a Monkees concert does it allow performers rather than athletes to step on its beautiful turf. Davy Jones, of course, knows all about the sporting tradition of Wembley. And when he found himself all alone in Wembley, with its thousands of seats empty, and with an hour to spare, he suddenly decided to do what millions of British boys dream of: Play ball at Wembley! Quickly, he grabbed a soccer ball and began to kick it around in the stadium of champions. FLIP’s Ric Klein was there to cover the history-making happening, and this is what Davy’s “kickiest” day looked like!

Info After playing for nearly an hour, Davy realizes that it might be easier to kick the ball with his bell bottoms tucked into his groovy boots. Then he played a little more before calling it a day—a day he won’t forget for a long time!
