In November, all of the MONKEES showed up in NYC for a fantastic gala formal party to celebrate the premiere of their movie Head. The party was more hippie than teeny-bopper . . . PEGGY LIPTON’s not-so-secret boy friend is her record producer LOU ADLER. LOU also produced the Mamas & The Papas.

MICHAEL COLE has a tatoo [sic] (a rose and a cross) on his upper right arm . . . If you can’t get enough of C.C. COURTNEY on NBC-TV’s The Doctors—fear not! Right now, C.C. is in a recording studio and by early 1969 he will have released his first single record . . . Didja know that Star-Trek’s WILLIAM SHATNER and Brides’ ROBERT BROWN co-starred in a TV pilot two years ago called Colossus? The show bombed—but that doesn’t mean it can’t be resurrected, now that both these guys are so popular . . . BOBBY SHERMAN and the rest of the Brides boys rushed off their Screen Gems set recently to visit costar JOAN BLONDELL, who had been hospitalized for a day after a fall. Don’t panic, keedies, itzOK—JOAN was back on the set the next day . . . Hope you caught luvable LOU RAWLS in his first big acting role, when he appeared as “Joshua Watson” in ABC-TV’s Big Valley segment.

A movie called Recess is coming your way soon, so watch carefully for it—cos it’s got about ten super groovy-looking brand new guys in it. Here are just four of them—DROUT MILLER, CHARLES BRUMMITT, MICHAEL PATTON and CHRISTOPHER WINES . . . Didja catch that surprise appearance DESI ARNAZ, JR. made on his dad’s show The Mothers-In-Law in October?! . . . Congrats to the UNION GAP on their three gold records for Woman, Woman, Young Girl and Lady Willpower. Over You, no doubt, will be their fourth goldie . . . Almost the whole THOMAS family showed up in guest appearances on MARLO’s ABC-TV series That Girl. In the segment called My Sister’s Keeper, TONY plays the brother of a nun, DANNY plays a priest, and TERRE plays the nun . . . When MARY HOPKIN was in NYC to do the Ed Sullivan Show, she popped by 16’s offices (“Right now, I don’t know what my next single is—the decisions regarding me are in the hands of PAUL MCCARTNEY,” quoth she), and then rushed on to catch DONOVAN’s sell-out Carnegie Hall concert.
