Letter from the Editor

Hi,

What a hectic month that was! As usual all the advance information turned out to be wrong and Davy eventually arrived long after Micky on Friday, May 31st.

The visit of one Monkee is an exciting and important event. Two is just stupend-exciting! This is one girl who rushed around in a complete daze from the moment Micky’s plane landed at London Airport, until Davy’s took off.

In this issue I have printed the full exclusive interview that Davy gave me specially for all Monkee Monthly readers; “Our real fans,” as he called you.

There’s also a full account of the hectic days that Micky spent rushing around London. Both the Monkees asked me to tell you how sorry they were that they weren’t able to stop to talk to more of you. But, when they are in the car it is always very difficult.

I would like to get as many pictures of Monkee fans into the magazine as possible and I have just realized that the best way to do this is to ask all of you to send in a small passport size photo, approximately 2 in. by 2 in. (please don’t make it much larger), with your Pen Pal request. Then I will put them all in a lucky dip and print as many as possible on the Pen Pal page. Two important points: please remember to PRINT YOUR NAME IN BLOCK CAPITALS on the back of the photograph just in case it gets separated from your letter, and, as none of the photographs that are sent in will be returned please don’t send me any extra special snapshot you don’t want to lose.
