Hi,
It’s only right that you should be kept in touch with everything that Davy, Micky, Mike and Peter do. No important event should be kept secret from you. But, it can be difficult sometimes where the Monkees are concerned as they are normally over 6,000 miles away.
Recently, rumours have been buzzing around Britain like bees in a hive. “Micky has married Samantha” and “Davy and Lulu are just about to name the day”… are the two of the current favourites. What is the truth about these stories? In this issue I have tried to give you the answers to these very important questions as well as going into the whole business of rumour-mongering.
Unlike some other publications, the Monkees Monthly does try and check every fact before it is printed—that’s the whole point of the boys having their own magazine in this country—so that you can get the facts direct from them.
Isn’t it odd the way that every new Monkees’ single has to climb up the charts. You would think that a Monkees’ Record would shoot straight into the Top Ten the very first week of release. But no, it always seems to register in the same sort of way. Fact is, Britain’s record shops never seem to order sufficient copies of a new Monkees’ single when it comes out.
Still, who cares, as long as “Valleri” ends up where it should at the top of all the British pop charts!!!
