I Visit with The Monkees (Part 17)

Dear TiGER BEAT Readers,

Busy at work on their full-length movie, the Monkees are looking greater and happier than ever before. They have found that doing a movie is quite different from doing their weekly TV show and this makes their work a brand new challenge.

The movie had been titled “Changes,” but then the Monkees found out that another movie was coming out under that title so now they are searching for a catchy new name.

At home, Davy is working in his garden, fixing up his recording studio, anxiously waiting for his English pool table to arrive, besides playing with his new dog “Susie II,” which is a male dog! Peter and Micky are enjoying relaxing in their off hours and Mike and Phyl and just busy loving their new baby.

That’s what’s happening this month in Monkeeland. We’ll be keeping you up-to-date on all the happenings on the Monkee movie set, so stick with us. We love you,

Love, Ann

  • Davy Jones
Info Davy returned from his vacation in England and Switzerland looking great and eager for work. Micky got a fabulous tan while he was in Hawaii and Mike returned to the set the proudest father you’ve ever seen! It was just too groovy!

  • Mike Nesmith, Peter Tork, Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones
Info Talking things over and planning out each scene just before it’s put on film is the way the Monkees like to work. They have developed an outstanding way of using teamwork to get things done well.
  • Jon Andersen, Micky Dolenz, Mr. Schneider
Info Jon Anderson [sic] is one of the Monkees’ favorite directors because his ideas are new and young and all the guys can really groove with him. Actually for each show the Monkees do as much directing as the director.
