Hi!
Sorry about the slip-up in last month’s issue. I knew that Peter was thinking of coming to London just after Davy but nothing was settled when I spoke to the boys on the ’phone before Christmas and as the magazine had to go to press before the holiday, I assumed that he might not come and left it at that.
As you all know, Davy arrived before Christmas and Peter after. They both stressed when they arrived that they were here for a holiday and not to give interviews or do television shows. Despite this they were flooded with requests from producers and DJs to appear on their programmes.
A few lucky fans were able to see one or both of the boys while they were here and I must mention two in particular, Kathleen Milligan and Christine Moore. As you know Peter Tork moved out of the Mayfair Hotel when a window was broken. Kathleen and Christine took a collection amongst the waiting crowd and offered the money to the management to pay for the damage, but the management, very ungratefully, refused to accept it. So Christine and Kathleen used the money to buy a shirt as a going away present for Peter.
Both Peter and Davy told me that they really did appreciate the way you have all pushed “Daydream Believer” up the charts. It just shows what Monkee fans can do when they try.
