You’re Telling Me

Hi! This is Randi Reisfeld, one of 16’s Editorial Directors—and this is the place where you get to tell me whatever’s on your mind! I love to know what you’re thinkin’—and I promise to read each in every letter you send. I can’t answer them all—but I’ll try and get to as many as I can right here each month. Send your letters to You’re Telling Me, 16 Magazine, 157 W. 57th Street, New York, N.Y. 10019—thanks!

Dear Randi,

I need to know if Boy George has a fan club in London or a place I can write besides his U.S. fan club.

Kim Mapes
Perris, CA

Dear Kim,

It’s actually not in London, but in Middlesex. Write: Boy George, The Multi-Cultural Club, 34A Green Lane, Northwood, Middlesex, England. Be sure to include the proper amount of postage (check with your mail carrier).

Dear Randi,

Can you give me the vital stats on David Kaufman of WTBS’ (cable) TV’s Down To Earth show? He plays Duane Preston. Thanks.

Cathy Lipton
Chatsworth, CA

Dear Cathy,

Dashing David’s a bright new star who loves being on Down To Earth: he shares his character’s sense of humor, but David’s not nearly as egotistical as Duane. In real life, David’s in his ’20s and began acting in community theatre plays in his native St. Louis when he was nine. He lives in Los Angeles now, loves to play the piano, watch Newhart on TV and meet girls who are independent, spontaneous and confident. He’s got brown hair and hazel eyes. Write: David Kaufman, Down To Earth, Lorimar Productions, 3970 Overland Bl., Culver City, CA 90232–3783. Here’s a pic.

Dear Rand,

I loved Corey Haim in Lucas—could you tell me what other movies he’s been in? Include some stats, too.

Nicole Mizell
Mt. Pleasant, TX

Dear Nicole,

Cutie-pie Corey’s got quite an impressive list of credits—’specially when you realize he just turned 15 on December 23! Corey’s been before the cameras in the movies Firstborn, Silver Bullet, Murphy’s Romance, Lucas (as you said!) plus the upcoming Lost Boys. He starred, too, in the TV drama, A Time To Live. Corey’s 5'4" tall (and growing), has sandy brown hair and blue eyes. He loves racquetball, sushi, the colors turquoise and burgundy and reading mail from you. Best address: Corey Haim, c/o The Light Company, 113 N. Robertson, Los Angeles, CA 90048.

Dear Randi,

Is it true that Noah Hathaway played on Battlestar Galactica? Can I have an address? Noah is a hunk.

Athena Snelbaker
Canton, OH

Dear Athena,

It sure is—at the time, 1978, Noah was only seven years old: here’s how he looked as ‘Boxey’ in that short-lived TV adventure. Today, Noah’s 15—his birthday is November 13—he’s 5'4" tall and hopes to be making more movies (his latest is Troll) and TV appearances soon. Write: Noah Hathaway c/o The Disney Sunday Movie, ABC-TV, 4151 Prospect Ave., Hollywood, CA 90027.

Dear Randi,

I’d like to enter the Monkees Bonanza contest; however, I don’t know if I’m eligible, since I live in Canada. If I am eligible, may I submit more than one entry?

Ms. Chai So
Toronto, Canada

Dear Chai,

16’s contests are open to everyone—no matter where you live. And you can enter as many times as you like! Good luck!

Dear Randi,

I go crazy when I see Ricky Schroder. Problem is, I can’t find his address anywhere. Will you help?

Beth Blunier
Roanoke, IL

Dear Beth,

Write to Ricky at: Silver Spoons, Embassy TV, 956 N. Seward Ave., Los Angeles, CA 90038. For over 300 more celebrity addresses, send for 16’s All-Star Address & Birthday Guide—details on page 7!

Dear Randi,

I just want you to know how happy I was to win a poster of Rob Lowe from Youngblood in 16’s contest. I love it!

Suzanne Posluszny
Dunellen, NJ

Dear Randi,

I just wanted to say thanks for all the terrific Monkees issues—I watch the re-runs every day and am taping them too. I saw their concert at the Pacific Amphitheatre and loved it. I could never understand why people made such tools of themselves, jumping up and down at concerts—well, now I know why! I was screaming right along with everyone else at the Monkee concert. Please keep the articles comin’.

Jeanette Martell
Anaheim, CA

Dear Jeanette,

16—and RockLine!—plan on doing lots more Monkee features. In fact, the February RockLine! (on sale now!) has an entire section, nearly 20 pages worth, devoted to Monkee mania!

Dear Randi,

I’ve been noticing C.B. Barnes a lot on Starman. Would you mind telling me his birthday and what grade he’s in now? What does C.B. stand for? is

Laura Arkshaw
Wantagh, N.Y.

Dear Laura,

Christopher Dantel Barnes (actually C.B. are his initials!) was born on November 7, 1972—he’s 14 and in the eighth grade. When he’s not tutored on the Starman set, he attends classes in New York City. Here’s a pic.

Dear Randi,

I think Marc Price is a great comedian, a great actor and a very good-looking young man. So please tell me everything about him! Include his age, birthday, where he lives, hobbies and what he looks for in a girl.

Sheila Knowles
San Dimas, CA

Dear Sheila,

The New Jersey born teen—he’ll be 19 on February 23—is Family Ties Skippy and stars in the movie Trick Or Treat. Marc lives in the Laurel Canyon section of Los Angeles and tools around town in his ‘Skippymobile,’ a car clearly on its last legs! Yes, Marc has a great sense of humor—his dad, Al Bernie, is a professional stand-up comic and so is Marc!—and spends his off-hours going to the movies or having dinner with friends like Michael J. Fox. Marc also enjoys nature and loves hiking in the woods. He goes for girls he can talk to, who like him for who he is, not just because he’s famous. Write: Marc Price, Family Ties, Paramount TV, 5451 Marathon, Hollywood, CA 90038. He loves getting mail!
