The Laugh-In Crew Socks It to Davy

Davy’s First Solo TV Appearance Since The Monkees Series

  • Henry Gibson, Davy Jones
Davy received some sound advice from the parson, Henry Gibson. Davy had several lines in the party sequences that were really funny. He had met Henry when they did the “Hollywood Squares” show together.
  • Davy Jones, Goldie Hawn
Goldie and Davy really hit it off, even though Goldie is several inches taller. Between scenes, they’d do crazy dance routines together to everyone’s amusement!
  • Alan Sues, Jo Anne Worley, Henry Gibson, Goldie Hawn, Dave Madden, Ruth Buzzi, Davy Jones, Judy Carne
“The mod, mod world” portion of this particular “Laugh-In” aired in February paid a salute to marriage with a tongue-in-cheek song and dance routine. How do you like the wild costumes they wore? Aren’t they funny!
  • Davy Jones, Ruth Buzzi
The girls just can’t resist darling Davy Jones and even “old lady” Ruth Buzzi did some on-camera flirting. Do you blame her? At the show David had a chance to meet Dan Rowan and Dick Martin for the first time.
  • Goldie Hawn, Davy Jones
All the crew just loved Davy be cause of his fine quick wit. Many skits come to life with ad-lib jokes.
  • Davy Jones, Judy Carne
Finally the “stunt runt” Judy Carne got to sock it to somebody else! When Davy yelled “sock it to me!” that’s exactly what Judy did! Judy and Davy are old friends. They met when she did “Love On A Rooftop” at Screen Gems.
  • Arte Johnson, Davy Jones
“The Russian,” Arte Johnson, is not sure he digs Davy’s mod clothes very much. But we sure do!
  • Davy Jones
Davy was fascinated with the helter-skelter way “Laugh-In” is taped.
  • Davy Jones, Jo Anne Worley
A naturally great dancer, he looked groovy in the party scenes. Don’t you think so?
  • Davy Jones, Jo Anne Worley
When David finished his parts on the show, the entire crew quit working to say good-bye. They liked him.
  • Alan Sues, Davy Jones
Having a laugh with “Big Al,” Alan Sues, Davy admitted he was nervous before doing the show. Even though this was his first television appearance since The Monkees series, he got right into the swing of things.
  • Davy Jones
“Sock it to you!” Davy is saying! And that’s what he did. We think he was fantabulous. Here’s hoping he’ll do another one very soon!
