The big question of the month for every Monkee fan must be ‘When are the boys going to tour Britain?’ Well, it is now pretty definite that they’ll be here early next year. Vic Lewis, the top agent who brought them over for those fantastic Wembley concerts last year, has been to Hollywood to discuss everything with the Monkees managers. He put up plans for a short tour of the main British cities, which everyone accepted. So, now all we are waiting for is the final O.K. from America.
But, there have been so many false starts with different papers and magazines giving the so-called ‘facts’ about the tour, that I’m not going to put any dates down until I’ve got full details from the boys.
The Monkees always seem to be surrounded by rumours—which is only normal—it happens to every big, international star—but some of them have been very misleading, especially the the ones about the Monkees wives and girlfriends. So in this issue we’ve got a special feature about the girls in the Monkees lives.
Every Monkees fan should be congratulated for letting Davy have so much privacy when he visited this country following the boys Far Eastern tour. Davy asked me to pass on his very grateful thanks to all of you.
Our big new ‘Draw a Monkee’ competition has got off to a flying start. But, it’s also given me a bit of a headache. Why? Well, where do I put all your drawings and cartoons until judging time. Don’t forget to put the new address on your letters. See you next month.
