Whenever Micky gets a spare minute away from the Monkees’ monstrous schedule, he jets up to his parents’ home in Los Gatos for a nice rest. Come along with us as we tour his secret, favorite places in Los Gatos, which is about 45 minutes below San Francisco. On our trip we’ll have Coco as a guide, so we can’t help but have a great time!
The Winchester Mystery House is one of the groovy places Micky likes to tour when he’s home. Above, that’s me swinging on the gates to the city. They mark the entry way to the first house ever built in our city. Los Gatos means “the cats” in Spanish, after which our town was named. I love this park, caned Vasona Park, in Los Gatos. Micky and I took Davy Jones here boating one time when he came up for a weekend. We went boating and had a ball! [Above] is my dad’s church, The First Church of Religious Science. Micky and I always go together when he’s home. Micky and I never miss a trip to Bob’s Big Boy, because they have the best burgers! That’s my brother’s real estate office, [above], that he’s working with investing some of his money in land. Every once in a while Micky gets an idea to do something totally different—like bowling. The city of Saratoga is right near Los Gatos, so when Micky gets a brainstorm like that we just pop over to the Saratoga Lanes. Micky is such a doll, he bought me a pants suit at the Fiesta Shop that has just the latest fashions. [Above], I had a great time feeding the friendly ducks at Vasona Park. It’s so much fun there because you can fish, feed the ducks, go sailing and picnic, too! If you live near our city, you just may run into Micky at the Bank of America. This is where he does his banking when he’s home. The people in the bank just flip when they see a Monkee walk in! I’m coming out of the postoffice that receives all of Micky’s fan club mail. The employees are so cool, I love to go and pick up the mail and take it to the fan club headquarters. Hope you liked our tour, I did!
