Ever since Fave hit the newsstands back in September every Monkee lover in the U.S.A. and Canada has been pouring contest entries over the transom, through the keyhole, under the windows and doors of Fave’s Hollywood offices.

Despite the fact that it has taken endless days and nights to open all your letters… and, despite the bleary eyes and fingers trembling from fatigue and excitement, it’s been worth every second of everyone’s time. Your thoughts about Davy, Micky, Mike and Peter have got to be the greatest things since the Monkees themselves happened!
It was a tremendous decision to boil down over 15,000 gassy entries to THE ULTIMATE WINNER—the one person who best expresses what everybody feels about the Monkees. But it finally HAPPENED! After hours of conferences over the stacks of entry blanks, all the TiGER BEAT people agreed that THE WINNER of THE OUTASITE MONKEE CONTEST had to be Kim Larson, 14, of 2904 N.E. 65th Street, Portland, Oregon, for writing, “I Like the Monkees because they have time for their fans! They make every single girl honestly feel that she holds a special place in the Monkees’ big warm hearts.” For this, Kim wins the fantastic trip to Hollywood to meet Davy, Micky, Mike and Peter! Even as you read this she is flying toward her faves!
Once her plane sets down at Los Angeles International Airport, her dream of a lifetime will start to come true. Not only will she meet the Monkees, she will ride down Hollywood Boulevard in the Monkee Mobile, visit all the Monkee haunts and, last but not least, receive a complete wardrobe selected and presented by the Monkees!
When Kim gets back home and wonders if it all really did happen, she has only to look in her closet and see the mini-shift from Davy, the flower pin from Mike, the floppy hat from Micky, the mod bag from Peter and the mini-shoes, a group gift from all the boys! As further proof—their personal gift cards for Kim to keep forever!
