Davy the Fireman

You’ve seen Davy as almost every character imaginable on The Monkees. But here’s your very first glimpse of the day Davy became a real, honest-to-goodness fireman!

It was during the Monkees stay in San Francisco for the big KFRC Concert. The Daly City (a suburb of San Francisco) Fire Department made Davy an honorary fire chief for the day.

And he carried out his duties well! The bell rang and he jumped into a somewhat oversized suit, then rushed to jump on the speeding fire engine. Later he practiced climbing the tall, tall ladder and he didn’t ever look scared. That’s our Davy—brave, fearless and so cute, even as a fireman!
