You Asked for It

Do you have an unusual question—or an unusual request—regarding your fave star or stars? If you do, write it down and send it to YOU ASKED FOR IT!—a new department which will appear regularly in 16 Magazine!

Dear Miss Stavers,

I read in another magazine that Mark Lindsay has one brother and one sister; that his driver’s license was not taken away from him; and that he is going to cut off his ponytail! I also heard that he is engaged and is going to get married! Please tell me the real truth!

Jane Hart
Wilmington, Del.

Dear Jane,

Mark has one older sister, four younger sisters and two younger brothers; Mark’s driver’s license was revoked by the Los Angeles County Department of Motor Vehicles for three months (if you don’t believe it, write to them and ask them), and it has now been re-instated; Mark is not going to cut off his ponytail (that is another of those “made-up” stories); Mark is not engaged and is not married—in fact, he’s not even going steady! Hope that clears evrything [sic] up for you.

Dear Miss Stavers,

Could you tell me the correct name of Miss Nichols, who is a regular on Star Trek?

Dorothy Starr
Canton, Ohio

Dear Dorothy,

Her correct name is Nichelle (not Michelle) Nichols. You can write to Nichelle and all the rest of the Star-Trekers at 780 North Gower, Los Angeles, Calif. 90038. Be sure to put “I Am A 16 Reader” on the outside of your envelope.

Dear Miss Stavers,

I have read that Paul McCartney and Jane Asher broke up; that Cynthia is suing John Lennon for divorce; and that Phyllis and Mike Nesmith have separated! I just cannot believe these stories! Are they true or just rumors?

Lily Trent
Salt Lake City, Utah

Dear Lily,

Unfortunately, they are all true. Let’s hope that by the time you read this, at least Phyllis and Mike will have made up.

Dear Miss Stavers,

You wrote that Len Whiting played the role of the “Artful Dodger” in Oliver!, and a long time ago you said that Davy Jones played that role.

Cathy Urba
Vancouver, Wash.

Dear Cathy,

The Oliver! productions I’ve written about were musicals on the stage. Davy played the “Artful Dodger” in New York and Len played it in London—each at different times. You will be interested to know that the motion picture is being released soon and that Jack Wild plays the “AD” in the movie!

Dear Miss Stavers,

I’m wild about Tony Bill, who played Florian in Never A Dull Moment. Could you tell me what he has coming up?

Della Nusan
Detroit, Mich.

Dear Della,

You will be thrilled to learn that Tony (along with Jim Brown) is starring with Rock Hudson and Ernest Borgnine in the MGM Cinerama production of Ice Station Zebra, which will be released sometime this winter. You can write to Tony at MGM Pictures, Culver City, Calif.

Dear Miss Stavers,

Help! I heard that Brendon Boone is engaged to get married! Say it isn’t so!

Donna Hill
Dumont, N.J.

Dear Donna,

O.K.—it ain’t so! Honest! Brendon just told me (on the phone) that he is not betrothed to anyone. nor does he plan to be at any time soon.

Dear Miss Stavers,

I saw the beautiful McCoys on It’s Happening and I am dying to write to them! Can you help me?

Kathie Tanner
San Diego, Calif.

Dear Kathie,

You can write to the McCoys in care of Mercury Records, 110 W. 57th St., New York City.
