I was thrilled when Ed. Justin of Screen Gems asked me to become the Secretary of the New MONKEE Club. “You’ll manage,” he said, “as long as you don’t need any sleep for the next six weeks.” Well I’ve survived, and it’s been great fun. We’ve found some super new offices in Corporation St., Birmingham, and thanks to a very hardworking staff I think we’ve now got everybody bang up to date.
The “Fab Four” have been very worried about all the Fan Club upsets in the past and one of the first things that Davy did when he arrived in England for his recent visit was to phone me to see how things were going.
Now a few words about the Club. It is possible to join again. All you have to do is send your name and address together with a 7/6 P.O. plus two 4d. stamps to me at the above address and BY RETURN OF POST (yes, we aim to give this sort of service) we will rush you a Kit and current Newsletter. Your subscription also includes 6 Newsletters (one every 2 months) and an opportunity to buy pics, books & fab jewellery.
When Davy was here he invited me to his house in Manchester to have a long chat about the future of the Club. We talked about the possibility of some special surprises, but more about that in the next Newsletter.
Well I reckon I’ll have to close now as the mail is beginning to pile up and I daren’t let it get behind ever again. Hope you send us plenty of letters, letting us know how you like the new renewal kit, newsletters and merchandise. Perhaps if you’ve got any new ideas about merchandise, you’ll let us know. We’re open to suggestions. Remember, we want to give you just what YOU want and we’ll do our best to follow your suggestions, so write, write, write. We want to make the New MONKEE Club the biggest and best fan club ever… somebody said we were only No. 2, so don’t forget… Join, Join, Join. Love & Peace,
