My Desperation

Who would think that anything could get cool Micky uptight? Well, Micky’s in trouble! In fact, he’s desperate! Can you help him?

I’ve been asked if I have any special diet to stay so thin. Not hardly—I’m trying like crazy to gain weight! You don’t think that would be a problem? You think it would be groovy to always be trying to gain? Well, it’s not! I eat and eat and eat until I almost burst!—and I can’t seem to add a pound!

Nobody should be overweight but being too thin isn’t the greatest thing in the world either. If you’re too thin you don’t have as much reserve energy and I need all the go I can get with my super-hectic schedule. Besides, it’s hard to find clothes that fit if you’re underweight. So, I need help! I’m desperate!

My typical meal sure isn’t the kind an overweight person on a diet would eat: a bowl of chili, a couple of malts, salami, swiss cheese, bread. Sometimes for breakfast I have orange juice on my cereal. Sure, raisin bran or cornflakes mixed in with orange juice! It’s really good. Try it and write and tell me how you like it! Now, all these foods are what I munch on all the time. They’re not subject to any certain meal label. I don’t have breakfast, lunch and dinner. I just have a meal now and a meal then, as often as I can. Sometimes six or more times a day!

I’ve gotten recommendations from all my buddies. Davy and Mike have suggested everything from cakes and pies to mashed potatos and gravy several times a day. Peter suggested that I spread his favorite recipe on slice after slice of bread—equal parts mashed avacodos and cottage cheese with sesame salt. Samantha says that if I drink three glasses of milk with every meal and eat foods that are good for me but still high in calories between meals, that ought to do it. But nothing works!

So, as you can see, I’m really desperate! Sure I dig eating—but not constantly! I’m never really hungry because I’m always trying to get more food inside me, even when I don’t want it. And when you’re not hungry, it’s not fun to eat.

What I need are some good, weight-gaining recipes that’ll do the trick without my having to be putting food into my mouth constantly! Have any ideas? If you do please send them to me in care of FaVE, Suite 211, 1800 North Highland, Hollywood, California 90028—I’ll sure dig it!
