The Monkees are flipped out over Indians… East Indians… American Indians… you name them. The Monkees love them!

When they had three days off during their summer tour, Peter flew a group of 30 up to Wisconsin to visit an authentic Indian Village. Mike was the only Monkee who didn’t go. The Buffalo Springfield were along to add to the fun and Henry Diltz took the groovy photos you see on these pages.

As Micky says, “The Indians had the right idea. They built everything in a circle so nobody would be left out… no corners.” The Monkees are trying to live their lives this way so all their fans and their loved ones can be very much included in their exciting lives!
