Are you short of breath? Is your head in a whirl? Are you weak in the knees? Is your heart going
clunk-clunk, clunk-clunk? Well, that’s natural, luvvie—cos guess where you are? You’re standing right smack dab on Micky Dolenz’ doorstep, that’s where! And the adorable one—the one and only Monkee Micky is legging it to the door to invite YOU into his pad!
There he is! And look at that smile! It’s got “Welcome” written all over it. Come on inside, it says, and let’s get acquainted. You’d never guess that Micky’s just unwinding after a long hard day’s work at the studio—he’s that happy to see YOU!
Nothin’ like music to supply a cozy mood. What’ll it be? How does Elektra’s The Blues Project LP grab you? It does? Hold on, then, cos here it goes (
Candy Man is Micky’s favorite band).
How lucky can you get? Micky climaxes your musical interlude by plunking himself right in front of you and serenading you LIVE!
You’re looking now at a proud Monkee—and why not? Micky won this trophy in 1961 at the
Rod & Motorama Sweepstakes for the over-all best custom car, and he just had to show it to you.
More prized possessions. Micky collects old movie posters, and he is also a button nut. Poster? Oh, c’mon it’s Buster Keaton, natch! Button? Bela (Count Dracula) Lugosi—who else!
Not only Micky but Laurel and Hardy seem to be getting a kick out of this—uh, this… What
is it? Why, luvvie, it’s Micky’s own personal, private creation—a metal lampbase he made himself!
So you had to see it to believe it, you skeptic (
shame!). Yes, Micky really does read your fan letters to him—each and every one of them—just as he is doing right here!
“Look, hon, I’m making a mess of this. Couldn’t we just go out to dinner?” (Sob, sob—Micky is
“But I’m the world’s greatest li’l ol’ ice-cube maker—with the help of my trusty Whirlpool fridge, that is!”
Micky saves the best for last—the way-out control panel he built in his bedroom. As Micky illustrates, it turns his lights, phone and TV on and off and changes the TV channels. (That’s not a rocket at right, luv, it’s Micky’s groovy Lava-lite.) And with this, your entertaining electronics bug, Monkee Micky—the Most of the Hosts—bids you an affectionate farewell… until next time!
