Notes
Location
The Monkees live at 1334 North Beechwood Drive in Malibu, California.
Pilot, Season 2, Head
The information on this page pertains only to the layout of the house in the first season. In the second season, it stayed mostly the same, but with different psychedelic accessories and whatnot. The bedroom in the second season was also considerably different, with all four Monkees sleeping upstairs.
“Head” used the same house (albiet briefly, in both the kissing scene and the scene before Mike’s birthday), with very different furniture. The front door and the stained glass window are both the same as in the series. The bandstand windows, however, are now also stained glass (as seen during Davy’s kiss).
Their house in the pilot episode, “Here Come The Monkees”, is entirely different from the house in the rest of the series. However, the windows at the back of the house and the position of the dining table and stairs seems to have inspired their appearance in the normal pad.
Bedrooms
The downstairs bedroom belonged to Davy and Peter and the upstairs bedroom to Mike and Micky, as seen in “Monkee Chow Mein”. However, Mike did use the downstairs bedroom in “I’ve Got A Little Song Here”. The downstairs bedroom also appears in “Your Friendly Neighbourhood Kidnappers” (although the layout is different, with the beds not blocking the windows) and “Monkee Mother”. The upstairs bedroom appears in “The Chaperone”.
The bedroom set was also used as an old couple’s house in “Your Friendly Neighbourhood Kidnappers”, another couple’s house in “I’ve Got A Little Song Here”, and an office in “Monkees In The Ring”.
Doors
The door to the right of the kitchen leads to a closet as seen in “Don’t Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth”.
The door by the jukebox leads to the bathroom as explained by Davy in “Monkees Get Out More Dirt” (“I’d gladly trade Mike for the bathroom right away”). The door can also be seen in “The Chaperone” and “One Man Shy”.
The door beside the entrance was never used in the first season but was seen in “The Chaperone”.
Entrance
The front entrance is seen in “Royal Flush”, “Don’t Look A Gift Horse In The Mouth”, “Monkee Mother”, “Monkees Get Out More Dirt”.
Appearances
The pad does not appear in “Monkees In A Ghost Town”, “Son Of A Gypsy”, “The Case Of The Missing Monkee”, “I Was A Teenage Monster”, “Monkees At The Circus”, “Captain Crocodile”, “Monkees In Manhattan”, and “Monkees On Tour”.
The entire episode takes place at the pad in “Monkee Mother”.
